FulguroGo is a French YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/FulguroGo).
On FulguroGo, I talk about a lot of subjects, such as reviewing pro games, matches by AlphaGo, games from Hikaru no Go, theoretical background about shapes, joseki and fuseki, and other fundamentals. Every week I make new videos for all different levels and review game commentaries on request, sent in by my viewers.
The idea of FulguroGo is to develop the French speaking Go community more and more throughout the world!
The aim of the project is mainly to spread Go among the French speaking community. I have always liked to help people through my experiences in Go. This channel is for everybody, ranging from beginners to experienced players. In each video, I try to be understandable for everyone, no matter their level.
FulguroGo is only on the Internet. A lot of its activities take place on KGS in the "La grotte de l'Hermite" social room.
Thanks to my activities on the Internet for more than 3 years, I learned to use Photoshop well. I really enjoy creating interfaces and assets for my videos and Twitch streams (https://www.twitch.tv/hisokah).
FulguroGo is on a few social networking websites like:
I stream on Twitch to entertain and interact with the growing Go community.
I also organise lot of activities in my room ('La grotte de l'Hermite' under Social) on the KGS server (http://www.gokgs.com/). Lessons, leagues and tournaments with or without prizes. The aim of this is to give the people the possibility to play both serious games and games for fun. There is a really good environment/vibe.
Already I can start to see the results of my project. There are more and more people who begin to play the game and get into it. More than 2000 people follow my channel, which means there are so many people that already play, but this also indicates a big group that is potentially interested to start playing this great game.
I consider this a great result, but of course it has to grow until everybody on earth plays Go. After that, we'll try to teach aliens on Mars (after they learn French...).
FulguroGo is born from the desire to help people.
I found that YouTube was a good medium, since it always keeps the videos online. Everybody can watch them whenever they want and as many times as they want. There aren't many French YouTube channels about Go too, so it's important to make things right.
I'm the only human resource.
There is a Tipeee page where you can support FulguroGo: https://www.tipeee.com/fulgurogo (THANKS!)
I also give private lessons to individuals and groups http://fulgurogo.be/apropos
More activities on the channel and maybe do great things for Go in real life as well.
Go is a passion. It always will be for me, because I really like what I do every day. But it takes a lot of time and work to do it right. It's important that people appreciate the work behind such initiatives (graphics, pedagogics, teaching). I personally appreciate it when I see someone has put a lot of work in their videos, it makes me feel like "I want to see this video" or "I want to see more!".
If it would be possible to make a living through Go in such a way, it would be great. In Europe, and especially in France, however it's not possible (yet). I'll keep promoting Go the best way I can.
Until now, I've had a lot of fun making and working on my channel. It is a great feeling to meet people that are interested in what I create and spread. I hope this adventure will continue for a really long time!
Thank you.
